NEW DELHI: 26/11 Mumbai terror attack key accused Tahawwur Rana was produced before a Delhi court on Monday. The court reserved its verdict on the NIA plea seeking to extend Rana's custody by 12 days.

On April 11, the court had granted an 18-day police custody remand, with strict adherence to legal protocols, including medical evaluations every 48 hours. Rana, charged with conspiracy, murder, terrorism, and forgery, was brought before the NIA Special Court on April 10 after his arrival at Delhi’s IGI airport.

During his earlier remand hearing, the court recognised evidence of a large-scale terror conspiracy spanning multiple cities, with potential international targets.

Considering Rana's health concerns and assurances during extradition, appropriate medical care was ordered.

Rana, a close associate of 26/11 Mumbai terror attack mastermind David Headley, was extradited to India after the US Supreme Court rejected his appeal against the extradition on April 4.

On November 26, 2008, 10 Pakistani terrorists launched a coordinated attack on multiple sites in Mumbai, killing 166 people over nearly 60 hours.
