"Hoping that he's OK" - Jayson Tatum's teammate expresses concern after Boston Celtics star suffers a setback during Game 4

Boston Celtics center Al Horford expressed concern over Jayson Tatum’s lower leg injury. Tatum was to be carried on a wheelchair after his leg gave up while he tried a dunk. The Celtics are facing elimination possibilities after losing Game 4 to the New York Knicks. The Knicks' Karl-Anthony Towns also came out in support of the Celtics superstar and wished him a speedy recovery.

Jayson Tatum could not continue playing and had to be wheeled off the court with only 2:58 remaining in Game 4. His non-contact injury may need an MRI, as per various media reports. Tatum got support from both his side and the New York Knicks' side when they saw the superstar writhing in pain. Boston Celtics center Al Horford expressed deep concern, saying:


“I mean, at this point, I'm concerned about Jayson." He continued, “That's the most important to me. ... The game stuff, we'll address it. But I'm just hoping that he's OK."










Horford also got worried about a shrinking squad resulting from Jayson Tatum’s absence. Talking about the impact of the star’s injury on squad health, he said:


"Well, it's very concerning." He further said, "Just from the care that I have for him and what he means to us, what he means to Boston. Just very tough for us.”


Speaking on behalf of the team, he shared how Tatum’s absence will affect them and said: “More importantly, it's just really tough for him right now. Let's see what happens. Just is very tough for our group altogether."








The Boston Celtics could not keep a lead over the Knicks and lost to them 121-113, inching closer to the possibility of elimination. Tatum’s injury at this juncture has come as a blow to the team, and all are hoping that he bounces back soon.

While the teammates and coach of the Boston Celtics were sad and worried, Jayson Tatum’s injury sent shockwaves to the opponent camp, too. The New York Knicks’ Karl-Anthony Towns wished him a speedy recovery and reminisced about the time he went through last year with his calf condition. Talking about his own experience while relating to Tatum’s experience, Towns said:


"I've been in a situation like that with my calf [before]." He further said:









“So I just walked up, respectful of his space, and just prayed to my mother, prayed to God, to put protection over him, comfort. Whatever he needs to go through, I hope it's a quick, painless process. I'm hoping we can see him back here soon, with the superstar talent he is, playing at the highest level."

Jayson Tatum’s team has sprung into action and they are trying to get MRI done the latest possible, most probably on Tuesday. The management, however, has not released any official statement on Tatum’s condition, but is expected to talk soon and give the latest update on the superstar’s health.
