Kanye West has once again raised eyebrows after sharing a rather controversial tweet on his social media handle on Monday. The rapper, who was in the news for allegedly parting ways with his wife Bianca early this month, made a startling claim about his childhood.
In a tweet, the rapper claimed that he had an incestuous relationship with a male cousin. The statement was posted alongside a video for his new track “Cousins,” which opens with the lyric, “Hanging out with my cousin readin’ dirty magazines.” In the accompanying message, West elaborated on the inspiration for the song, revealing that it was about a cousin who is currently serving a life sentence for the murder of a pregnant woman.
“Perhaps in my self-centred mess I felt it was my fault that I showed him those dirty magazines when he was 6 and then we acted out what we saw,” West wrote.
He further alleged, "My dad had playboy magazines but the magazines I found in the top of my moms closet were different." He concluded the post saying, "My name is Ye and I sucked my cousins d–k till I was 14.”
The post which was shared online with a black heart emoticon, sparked a wave of mixed responses, with many expressing concern for West’s mental health. He followed the post up with a photo of himself posing with his wife Bianca Censori, who he reportedly parted ways with a few weeks ago.
The photo together comes just days after the two were spotted enjoying a dinner date at an Indian restaurant in Spain.
In recent months, the rapper has faced a series of legal battles, including a lawsuit filed in November by a model who accused him of sexual misconduct during the filming of a 2010 music video. West is also dealing with multiple lawsuits linked to his Donda Academy.
