Kota: A POCSO court in Bundi awarded 20 years in prison to a 30-year-old woman Saturday for abducting and sexually exploiting a 17-year-old boy from near her village two years ago in Oct 2023. The court also imposed a penalty of Rs 45,000 on the convict.
Public prosecutor at Bundi POCSO Court, Mukesh Joshi said the police, acting on the order of the juvenile justice court, registered a case of abduction and sexual exploitation of the 17-year-old against the 30-year-old woman, identified as Lalibai Mogiya, at Deikheda police station, Bundi district, on Nov 7, 2023.
In the report submitted to the juvenile justice board, the survivor's mother alleged that Lalibai, wife of Phorulal Mogia, both residents of the same police station area, lured her 17-year-old son and took him to Jaipur. She further alleged that Lalibai stayed in a room in Jaipur, where she repeatedly intoxicated her son with liquor and sexually exploited him over a period of 6-7 days.
Following the order from the JJ board, Bundi, police registered a case of abduction and sexual exploitation under section various sections of the IPC, the JJ Act, and the POCSO Act, based on the mother's report. Police arrested the accused woman after an initial investigation and a medical examination of the survivor. However, she was later granted bail.
Judge Salim Badra of POCSO Court-1 found the accused woman guilty of abduction and sexual exploitation of the minor boy under relevant sections of the IPC and POCSO Act and sentenced her to 20 years of imprisonment, along with a penalty of Rs 45,000.
