Jaipur: Rajasthan Police will deploy a high-level security contingent for the upcoming visit of United States vice-president JD Vance and his family who are scheduled to arrive in Jaipur on April 21 and stay until April 24.

The US Vice President will land in Delhi at 10am on Monday. He will visit the Akshardham temple in the afternoon. Vance's official meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled at 6.30 pm the same day. The VP and his family is expected to leave Delhi for Jaipur after their official dinner with the PM.

On April 22, the VP is scheduled to visit the Amber Fort at 9 am where he is expected to meet chief minister Bhajan Lal Sharma. This will be followed by his only public engagement at Rajasthan International Centre at 3pm, where he will engage with industry leaders from the state and discuss trade and technology.

On April 23, he will head to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal and return to Jaipur in the afternoon, when he is scheduled to visit the City Palace. The US Vice President and his family will fly back to the US from Jaipur on April 24.

A senior official said several IPS officers, including those currently posted in the Jaipur Police Commissionerate, will be roped in for the elaborate security arrangements. The city police, in coordination with national security agencies and US counterparts, carried out rigorous preparations over the past week.

A senior official said that mock drills were conducted along key routes—from Jaipur International Airport to Rambagh Palace Hotel and Amber Fort—places Vance is likely to visit during his stay. Police and security teams also carried out reconnaissance at major tourist attractions, including Hawa Mahal.

A senior official said that over 20 additional DCPs and more than 40 ACPs, besides other ASIs, SIs, and CIs, will be deployed across various points. A large contingent of constables from police lines, Rajasthan Armed Constabulary (RAC), Emergency Response Teams (ERTs), and Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) will be stationed on the ground to ensure seamless movement and foolproof security.

"Special vehicles and rapid-response teams will also form part of the convoy," a senior official said, adding that all personnel are directed to remain on high alert throughout the visit.

City police confirmed that complete security preparations are finalised and round-the-clock surveillance will be maintained from Vance's arrival to his departure.

As part of the preparations, the intelligence wing of the state police is also asked to conduct round-the-clock security assessments of places where Vance is expected to arrive.
