Jaisalmer: Under ‘Operation Sampolia', Balotra police conducted a major raid Saturday at a house following information about illegal narcotics sales. They seized 67.840kg illegal poppy husk and confiscated Rs 65,200 earned from drug sales.
Hari Shankar, SP, Balotra district, stated that the operation aims to identify and raid suspicious locations involved in the sale and storage of narcotics to customers and itinerant sellers.
Under the supervision of Gopal Singh Bhati, ASP, Balotra, and led by Imran Khan, in-charge of the District Special Team, and Chandra Singh, Jasol SHO, the police team achieved significant success by seizing illegal poppy husk and cash from a house in Budiwara.
He mentioned that a tip-off was received about illegal poppy husk sales at the residence of Shankarlal in Budiwara.
Acting on this information, the police team led by Imran Khan and Chandra Singh conducted a raid on Shankarlal's house, where they seized 67.840kg illegal poppy husk, Rs 65,200 cash from drug sales, an electronic scale used for weighing the drugs, and black plastic bags used for packing.
A case was registered under the NDPS Act, and the investigation is underway.
The search for the absconding accused, Shankarlal, continues.
