Vladimir Putin has been forced to deploy electronic warfare units directly at the Kremlin after Ukraine launched what Russian sources called the "most massive air raid on Russia since the beginning of the Second World War." The fresh escalation - involving more than 750 drones launched between Tuesday and Thursday - triggered the closure of major airports in and around Moscow, paralysing air traffic and infuriating travellers. Some drones were intercepted, but others broke through defences, striking military and symbolic targets deep inside Russian territory.
At least 16 people have been injured in a Ukrainian drone strike on the city of Lgov, according to Kursk Governor Alexander Khinshtein.
