All traffic has been held on one section of the M1 after a lorry caught on fire. Emergency services quickly raced to the scene as motorists have been told to plan ahead. Traffic is being temporarily held between Junction 29 and 28 for Chesterfield and Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
The fire service and the police were called shortly after 6am with reports of a lorry bursting into flames. The incident follows a crash yesterday which shut the motorway in both directions, triggering mile-long queues. National Highways East Midlands said: "Traffic has been stopped on the M1 southbound in Derbyshire between J29 (Chesterfield) and J28 (Mansfield) due to a lorry fire. Emergency services are just arriving on scene. Thanks for your patience if you're held up."
