Emmerdale star Alexander Lincoln and Jack Brett Anderson's film A Night Like This hits cinemas next week, and the duo has exclusively spoken to Express.co.uk about the project, which follows the story of a broke gay actor and a failing club owner who cross paths in central London. Within the film, struggling actor Lukas (played by Jack) is on the verge of suicide and decides to drown his sorrows in a London pub. While drinking, he meets the owner, Oliver (Alexander), who is mourning the loss of his father. The pair clash at first, but they soon realise they have a lot in common as they walk around the city's streets late at night and go into details about their complicated lives.

It's unclear if there is a romantic spark between openly gay Lukas and Oliver - but the "will they won't they" plot is set to keep viewers hooked.
Ahead of the film's release, Alexander explained the pair had a "necessary connection" by "revealing themselves to each other" emotionally during their drunken conversations.
The star said: "I think it's more organic in life than we think, and I think the film highlights that and shows that intimacy can occur, but it's not always romance-based."
He added: "In a lot of romance films, in a lot of queer cinema as well, sex is a huge part of everything, and it is, but I feel it can always become that."
The former soap star said the two characters meeting and getting to know one another is "almost more intimate than the sexual part of a relationship".
He added: "How often do you truly see someone and they truly see you? The characters wanted more from each other, which is really beautiful."
The actor said he and Jack just wanted to bring their characters to life and "do our best," and they were very keen on working together again in the future.
A Night Like This is out in cinemas on September 26.
