Emmerdale couples 'torn apart' over Charity Dingle's tragic termination twist

In upcoming scenes of Emmerdale, pregnant Charity Dingle (played by Emma Atkins) has to make an extremely difficult decision that could ruin her relationships with husband Mackenzie Boyd (Lawrence Robb), her grandchild Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill), and Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren Plant). ITV spoilers have confirmed that Charity chases up the results of her paternity test after being pressed by Ross Barton (Michael Parr), who is convinced he is the father. Charity already feels guilty when she sees how excited Jacob and Sarah are about their child's impending arrival.

Her guilt soon increases when her husband, Mack, spontaneously plans a romantic date. Later, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) is suspicious when she sees Charity looking shifty in the Woolpack. Before long, she is left staggered when Charity reluctantly confirms that the unborn baby she is carrying for Sarah and Ross is actually hers and Ross'.

Charity cannot bear to tell anyone else this deep secret, as she knows it would destroy her relationship with Sarah and her marriage, which is finally back on track after a turbulent year.

Unsure what to do, Charity eventually makes the tough decision to book a termination as she wants to deal with the problem alone.

Meanwhile, mum-to-be Sarah cannot contain her delight when she receives a letter confirming the date of a scan.

Charity remains sheepish as she knows her abortion will happen soon, but Chas tries to convince her this is not the answer to her issues.

After arguing with Chas, Charity sobs in her car before feeling even worse about the situation when she's greeted by Sarah.

Sarah hands Charity a sweet memory box she and Jacob have put together for the baby. She then suggests Charity could write a letter to the unborn infant, but it's all too much for the latter.

Will Charity go through with the termination, or has Chas been able to talk her out of the idea?
