
There's a simple trick to keep celery crispier for longer, using just one common . Celery is a vegetable rich in nutrients like fiber and vitamin K, fiber and potassium.

Food experts at have shared an easy fix: "Wrap the celery in aluminium foil before storing it in the fridge to keep its crispness."
Celery, like many other fruits and vegetables, produces ethylene, a naturally occurring gas that accelerates ripening and spoilage. Aluminium foil keeps celery fresh by allowing ethylene gas to escape while retaining moisture. When celery is stored in a plastic bag, the ethylene gas becomes trapped, speeding up the ripening process and causing the celery to wilt and spoil faster. Some people also place a damp paper towel with the celery, wrapped in foil, for extra moisture.

While the foil method will undoubtedly be useful, an expert shared with another great technique. Storing the celery in a glass jar with water is a good option as it helps keep it fresher for a longer period.
Riley Davies, produce category manager for online grocer Misfits Market, shared : "Any method that helps retain moisture will work, but I like to treat stalks of celery as you would cut flowers". This keeps it fresh by preserving moisture and allowing for ethylene gas to escape, preventing spoilage.
