PM Modi Foreign Trips: Whenever Prime Minister Narendra Modi goes on a foreign tour; people discuss his meetings and agreements. But some other questions also arise in the minds of common people. Like who bears the expenses of these trips? Does the Prime Minister also have to take a visa to go abroad? And what does his passport look like? Let's know the answers to these questions.
Who keeps a complete track of expenses? The expenses of the Prime Minister's foreign trips are borne by not just one organisation but several departments together. The Protocol Division of the Ministry of External Affairs prepares the entire plan and maintains the details of the expenses. At the same time, the PMO and the Indian Embassy in the host country also bear a part of the expenses. Information about this expenditure is also given in the Parliament from time to time.
Does the PM have to take a visa? Most people ask whether the Prime Minister also needs a visa. Actually, the Prime Minister of India has a diplomatic passport. This passport is specially given to the President, Vice President, Prime Minister, Ministers, and senior officials. This passport is maroon in colour and is valid for five years. Its holders do not need a visa. They also get customs duty exemption, faster immigration, and special protocol facilities in many countries. Formalities between the two countries are completed before the Prime Minister's visit.
