Maya Jama is reportedly gearing up to take the next step in her romance with footballer Ruben Dias as things heat up between them. The Love Island host, 31, tried to keep their romance lowkey after meeting at the European Music Awards in November.
They were spotted on a number of secret dates, with fans noticing they were posting on social media about being in the same place at the same time. Maya was seen attending one of Ruben’s football matches in Portugal in March and a month later, the pair were kissing and cuddling at KSI’s Baller League football event at London.
Her romance with Ruben, 28, came after her split from rapper Stormzy last summer. The presenter made things official with the Manchester City star duringa sun-soaked trip to the Amalfi Coast in June.

While both Maya and Ruben appear to like to keep their romance off social media as much as possible, it seems things are getting serious behind closed doors. They both looked happier than ever as she shared a rare loved-up mirror selfie.
Maya may even be considering a move up north to be closer to Ruben, having spent plenty of time in Manchester to be near him. A source told The Sun : "Maya loves the down-to-earth nature of Manchester, as well as the glamour of the football and WAG scene.
"Bristol and London will always be special to her, but she is loving spending more time in Manchester with Ruben. The city has become a celebrity hub — with The Brit Awards scheduled to be held there for the first time in February."
Maya has often shared photos from Manchester, having stayed at Ruben's luxury apartment and enjoyed meals with his private chef. The couple have been spotted exploring the city on dates and were at the Apple store in the Arndale Centre last month.
According to reports from The Sun, the relationship became more serious in recent months. Maya is said to have introduced Ruben to her mum, Bernadette, and has been making an effort to learn her partner's native language by taking Portuguese lessons.
Ruben joined Manchester City in 2020 for a reported £57 million. Before dating Maya, he was in a relationship with Portuguese singer April Ivy and has also previously been linked to former Love Island contestant Arabella Chi.
Maya's love life has been in the spotlight ever since she dated Stormzy. The couple split up in 2019, which the rapper later called his "biggest regret", and they reunited in 2023 to give things another try.
However, they broke up again for good last summer, citing differences in what they wanted from their lives and for the future. In the same month Maya met Ruben, she issued a very telling comment on her love life.
She told the Evening Standard: "I am so happy right now but the next person I meet I want to marry and have kids with, so obviously I’m feeling fussy. I’ve created such a nice life for myself alone and I don’t want anyone who’s not going to add to that.
"I’m in this lovely bubble and I don’t want you unless you make me happy. If you’re not, I kind of don’t need you."
