Graham Potter SACKED by West Ham days before Everton clash

Graham Potter has been sacked by West Ham United just days before their Premier League clash with Everton. The Hammers are currently 19th in the table after picking up three points from a possible 15.

Potterhas endured a difficult start to life at the London Stadium, and this season has placed him under pressure. Defeats to Sunderland, Chelsea, Tottenham, and Crystal Palace have left many calling for his axe.

It remains to be seen who will be in charge for Monday night's trip to Goodison Park. Slaven Bilic has been linked with a return to the club, and Nuno Espirito Santo is also heavily mentioned as one of the frontrunners to replace the former Chelsea boss.

A club statement read: West Ham United can confirm that Head Coach Graham Potter has left the Club.

"Results and performances over the course of the second half of last season and the start of the 2025/26 season have not matched expectations, and the Board of Directors believe that a change is necessary in order to help improve the team’s position in the Premier League as soon as possible.

"The Club can confirm that Assistant Coach Bruno Saltor, First Team Coaches Billy Reid and Narcis Pelach, Lead Goalkeeper Coach Casper Ankergren, and Goalkeeper Coach Linus Kandolin have also left with immediate effect.

"The Board would like to thank Graham and his coaching staff for their hard work during their time with the Hammers and wish them every success for the future.

"The process of appointing a replacement is underway. The Club will be making no further comment at this time."

It's been reported that Espirito Santo and Bilic have conversations with the club's board over taking over. Potter had been under pressure since the 3-0 defeat to Sunderland on the opening day, with chants of "you don't know what you're doing" directed at him last week.

"I understand we're in a tough situation," he said after the defeat to Palace. "We want to do better than we are and at the moment we're not."
