Jill Scott may have sealed her England legacy when the Lionesses clinched the 2022 European Championship, but she was quickly back at work. The former Lionesses midfielder, who hung up her boots shortly after the tournament, was part of the squad that helped England win on home turf three years ago, overcoming Germany in the final at Wembley.
This marked the pinnacle of Scott's highly successful career, during which she also secured nine domestic trophies at club level. The former Everton and Manchester City midfielder gained wider recognition during the Euro final after her X-rated response to a foul was caught on camera.
Scott has since become a household name through her media work and was a pundit as England defended their Euros title against Spain last week. However, she allowed herself little time to bask in England's Euro 2022 win as she promptly returned to working at her coffee shop.

Jill Scott's coffee shopFive days after participating in the Euro 2022 final in front of a crowd of 87,192 fans, Scott was back at work. She is the co-owner of the Boxx2boxx coffee shop in Manchester, which she operates with her partner Shelly Unitt - the sister of Scott's ex-team-mate Rachel.
In a post on X, Scott was pictured holding a brush and broom behind the counter, along with the caption: "Back to reality and I love it! Shift done at Boxx2boxx coffee shop. Thanks to everyone that came to say hello! Your support is really appreciated."
ITV reported that Scott had brought her winners' medal with her and posed for photographs with supporters during her shift.
Scott and Unitt launched the shop in 2021, which took its name from Scott's position on the field. It has been frequented by some famous footballers from across the north west, with Scott mentioning Roy Keane's visits on the Stick to Football podcast.
Jill Scott's England careerScott accumulated an extraordinary 161 England caps throughout her career, having made her debut in August 2006 and retiring after the Euros final. Scott is the second-most capped player of all-time across both the men's and women's game, behind only Fara Williams.
The 38-year-old played in eight major tournaments for the Lionesses, and her 115th-minute semi-final winner against the Netherlands at Euro 2009 remains one of her most memorable moments. Despite retiring three years ago, Scott has stayed connected with the current England squad, as Lionesses captain Leah Williamsonexplained.
"We can't get rid of her! I had a couple of conversations this tournament with Jill. She is a funny character and one of the less-serious people," Williamson said. "She has so many experiences of her own, but also this incredible perspective. She does help us out.
"When she retired we were begging for the FA to employ her just to bring her along - so I'm glad that she is here. She is one of the greatest team-mates I have ever had."
The England legend has enjoyed a seamless move into TV and media work since hanging up her boots in 2022. Just months later, she was crowned 'Queen of the Jungle' after triumphing on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!
Scott has remained connected to football through her punditry duties. She has covered both men's and women's matches, including for BBC Sport at Euro 2025.
The former midfielder has been a fixture on the hit Stick to Football podcast since the programme was launched in September 2023. That same year, Scott was announced as a team captain on Sky's enduring panel show A League of Their Own.
