David Moyes claims Everton need to improve their game management after they blew a 2-0 lead against relegated Ipswich at Goodison Park. Ipswich is the fourth time have let a two-goal lead slip and they have won just one of their last 10 games.
Blues boss Moyes said: “I think if we all knew the answer we wouldn’t let it happen again.
“I think it’s about understanding how to see the game through. I thought we made a couple of terrible decisions, regarding runs and tackles and what not when neither were needed. We sort of left ourselves a bit exposed.
“I’m disappointed we didn’t win, but I think there’re a lot of positives in terms of where we’ve been and how we’re playing and what we’re doing to make chances.”
Everton have dropped 10 points from winning positions when they have led by two or more goals this season and Moyes added: “We’ve done that a couple of times but not seen it out. The game was always tight. We should have done a little bit better."

Moyes tried to take the positives out of a game they were leading 2-0 thanks to Beto’s header, his ninth goal of the season, and a 25-yard swerving effort from Dwight McNeil, his first since September on his 100th appearance after a long injury lay-off.
"We never shook Ipswich off really. They were always there or thereabouts,” he added. "We just couldn’t quite get there. We did a lot of good things and we tried some different things to see how players play in different roles.
“I thought we did really well in the opening part of the game, got the goals eventually but the goal just before half-time rocked us a bit and gave Ipswich something to keep going at. We couldn’t quite get the third goal.”
George Hirst headed home the equaliser in the 79th minute with his fifth goal of the season for injury-hit Ipswich and boss Kieran McKenna feels the striker is improving.
“We’ve missed him a lot this season when he hasn’t been available,” he said. “He makes a good impact off the bench and when he’s had his chances to start, he’s done really well. He deserves to play more, but Liam Delap has been very good.
“I think he’s developing really well, I think he’s got a great chance. That profile of striker, taller, maybe gangly in their early 20s, they tend to develop a little later.
“So, yeah, I think he’s got a good chance to keep developing and he’s maturing well. Today was a really good moment for him.”
