Bareilly Railway Station Brawl: Passenger Strikes Tea Seller After Alleged Assault Over 'Bad Tea' Complaint (VIDEO)

Bareilly: You must have come across instances where, passengers traveling from Indian railways have faced violence from pantry staff after complaining of overpriced eatables. This time, a similar incident took place at Bareilly Junction's platform number 1, where a tea seller allegedly assaulted a passenger after he complained of bad and overpriced tea. However, the passenger striked back at the tea seller. A video of the fight has gone viral on social media.

In the video, the passenger can be strangling the tea seller with his arms after the latter reportedly attacked the former for complaining of "Bad tea."

In the video, the passenger can be seen choking the tea seller with his arms for around 6 seconds. The people around can be heard telling the passenger to leave the tea seller.

As soon as the passenger looseness his grip, the tea seller gets his hand on a pipe, which is kept nearby. However, the passenger snatches the pipe from his hand and starts flogging the tea seller with the pipe. Train announcements can also be heard in the background.

UP Congress Reacts

The Uttar Pradesh unit of the Congress has reacted to the viral video. "Double engine BJP government Torture the customers! The viral video is said to be of platform 1 of Bareilly Junction. Where the shopkeeper beat up the customer badly after he complained about the bad tea. Be it the Railway Minister or his vendors, they consider complaining against customers as no less than a sin," UP Congress' official X handle said in a post on micro-blogging website X.

SP GRP Moradabad responding to Congress' post said that no written complaint was received at the police station in the matter.

"In relation to the above, the station in-charge of GRP Bareilly Junction informed that no written complaint/tahrir has been received at the police station in the said case. Taking cognizance of the said viral video, I have directed the station in-charge of GRP Bareilly Junction to take necessary action," SP GRP Moradabad said in a post on X.

Two days ago, a YouTuber was assaulted by Indian railway pantry staff inside the 3rd AC coach of Hemkunt Express, allegedly after he complained about being charged extra during his journey to Vaishno Devi. Vishal Sharma, a travel vlogger, documented the ordeal he had to face during his travel.

However, as soon as the video went viral, the ministry promptly took action and announced that it has imposed a 5 Lakh fine on the caterer and the railway police has lodged an FIR. The ministry also said, "The matter remains under strict watch. Stern action will follow based on the investigation outcome."
