Importance of Sita Navami
Sita Navami has special significance in Hinduism. According to the scriptures and Puranas, on the ninth day of Vaishakh month, during the afternoon of Pushya Nakshatra, King Janak was preparing the land to perform Yagya for the wish of having a child. When King Janak was plowing, he received a girl from the earth. Therefore, Sita Mata Janmotsav is celebrated on Navami Tithi. In Treta Yuga, Lord Vishnu was born as Ram and Mother Lakshmi as Sita. By worshiping Lord Ram and Mother Sita on this day, all the troubles are removed and the person also attains salvation. By observing this fast, happiness and peace come in life and marital life remains strong.

Mata Sita was born on the Navami Tithi of Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month in Pushya Nakshatra at noon time because on 6 May i.e. Tuesday, the midday period is not prevalent. In such a situation, the festival of Sita Janmotsav will be celebrated on Monday, 5 May.
Sita Navami 2025 Puja Muhurat
On May 5, you can worship from 7:36 am to 10:20 am. After this, Abhijit Muhurta will be from 11:52 am to 12:45 pm. Mother Sita appeared at noon, so it will be very auspicious to worship Mother Sita in Abhijit Muhurta.
Sita Navami 2025 Puja Vidhi
- Take a vow to fast after bathing and meditating in Brahma Muhurta. After this, spread a yellow cloth on a wooden stand and install the idol or picture of Mother Sita and Lord Ram.
- After installation, sprinkle Gangajal all around and then offer milk, flowers, incense, fruits, flowers and naivedya. After this, perform Aarti. After Aarti, chant mantras and also make donations.
- Perform Aarti of Mother Sita in the evening as well and break your fast with Prasad.
