Registration for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra
Online registration is done by visiting the official website of the Ministry of External Affairs https://kmy.gov.in. Every year, the application process runs from March to April. This year, the last date for registration was 13 May. A passport and a fitness certificate are mandatory for registration.
Where will the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra start from
This year, the journey will be from two major routes, Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand and Nathula Pass in Sikkim.
Lipulekh Pass
The passengers starting the journey from Uttarakhand will leave from Lipulekh Pass. The distance from here to Kailash Mansarovar is about 5000 km, and the journey may take 24-26 days. Trekking has to be done during this journey. This is considered a difficult route for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra.
Nathu La Pass
The group of travellers starting the journey from Sikkim will depart from Nathu La Pass. This journey will be done by road, which will take 20-22 days.
Tips for travellers
Pilgrims travelling to Kailash Mansarovar should carry the necessary documents. Passport of at least six months validity, medical fitness certificate, blood group certificate, passport-sized photo, and a medical kit. Trekking has to be done in the high Himalayan region for the journey, so good health and stamina are required. For this, travellers are called for a medical examination at the ITBP camp in Delhi. Travellers suffering from diabetes, high blood pressure, or heart disease are not allowed.

Cost of Kailash Mansarovar Yatra
The cost of the journey depends on the route selection and government and private travel. If you book a package for Kailash Mansarovar Yatra through the official website and are travelling on a government tour, then it can cost around Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 2 lakh. On the other hand, booking a package from a private travel agency for a 22 to 25-day trip can cost between Rs 2.5 lakh and Rs 3.5 lakh. The package includes a travel permit, food, accommodation, transport, medical emergency support, etc.
