Krishna's mischiefs and the importance of the pot

When Balkrishna showed his love and playfulness by stealing curd and butter from the pot. Dahi Handi teaches us that when we are together, even in the challenges of life, no obstacle can stand in our way.

Why is the Dahi Handi festival celebrated?

According to religious belief, in the Dwapar era, Lord Krishna and all his cowherds used to steal butter from people's houses and eat it. Troubled by this, mother Yashoda and all the people started hanging the butter pot at a high place in their house, away from their reach. Then Kanha's group found a unique way to get it. The cowherds made a prism-shaped human pyramid and started reaching it easily. In this trick of extracting butter, the pot would fall and break many times. Since then, that tradition has been carried out in the form of the Dahi Handi festival.
