Indian Railways on Friday announced three special trains from Jammu and Udhampur to Delhi due to the current security situation in the region.
This comes after a tense night between 8 and 9 May 2025, when over 50 drones were shot down by the Indian Army in Jammu and Kashmir.
The drones were part of a large-scale attack by Pakistan Armed Forces, which also included the use of other weapons across the Western border and ceasefire violations along the Line of Control.
The Army used L-70 guns, Zu-23mm cannons, Schilka systems, and other anti-drone technologies to bring down the drones.
In a post on X, the Army said the attacks were "effectively repulsed" and that a "befitting reply" was given. It also said that the Indian Army remains committed to protecting the country’s borders and will respond to any threats with force.
The attack happened just two days after India launched Operation Sindoor, in which nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK) were hit. These camps were linked to terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed, who were behind the 22 April Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians.
Defence sources told ANI that at least two drones were shot down in Naushera during heavy shelling. Explosions were also heard in Poonch and Rajouri on Friday morning. Some areas even experienced complete blackouts.

In another update, the Border Security Force (BSF) said it stopped an infiltration attempt in the Samba district along the International Boundary around 11:00 PM on 8 May.
The situation remains tense, and security forces continue to stay on high alert across border regions.
