Patna (Bihar) [India], September 18 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Bihar president Dilip Jaiswal on Thursday attacked the Congress party over posting an AI generated video of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's late mother, saying that the INDI alliance is "losing its political integrity".
Jaiswal welcomed the Patna High Court ordering the Congress to remove the video from social media, saying that this order should teach a lesson to the Congress leaders and also will curb any misuse of social media.
"I welcome the Patna High Court order. The way they posted an AI video on the Prime Minister and his mother, the Congress Party has committed a shameful act. The INDI alliance is losing its political integrity, after this Patna High Court order it is expected they will learn a lesson form this," he told reporters here.
"This order I think is a good message for the future. This will also curb the misuse of social media," he added.
An AI-generated video posted by the Bihar Congress went viral as it allegedly showed Prime Minister Narendra Modi dreaming about his late mother, Heeraben Modi, who is lambasting him over his politics.
Earlier in Uttar Pradesh, the state's minister OP Rajbhar expressed confidence in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) winning the upcoming Bihar assembly elections.
"An NDA coalition government will be formed in Bihar and we will fight together," he said.
The controversy over the AI video comes amid the preparations for the upcoming assembly elections for the upcoming assembly elections, as the incumbent National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by Nitish Kumar looks to retain power in the state, while facing a contest from the INDIA bloc, which includes the Congress and RJD.
The Congress on September 16 approved the formation of the State Election Committee of the Bihar Pradesh Congress Committee with immediate effect. Over 40 members, including Madan Mohan Jha, Rajesh Rathore, Nadeem Akhtar Ansari, along with all MPs, MLA, MLCs, AICC secretaries from Bihar and others are permanent invitees to the committee.
In the current Bihar Assembly of 243 members, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) consists of 131, with the BJP having 80 MLAs, JD(U)-45, and HAM(S)-4, with the support of 2 Independent Candidates. (ANI)
