Gandhiji used to say that people should always speak the truth. And should always walk on the path of truth. But sometimes people lie without the intention of harming anyone and sometimes as a joke with friends.
But when you lie in a very important situation. Then its consequences can be big. Suppose you are going to testify in court but you gave false testimony. You lied in front of your judge.
So let us tell you that doing this is wrong. And in such a situation you may also have to suffer punishment. So when you go to court, never lie. Always support the truth and say only what is the truth.
Because you lie in court. Then you can be punished for giving false testimony under section 227 of the Indian Code of Justice. If you give false evidence along with false testimony. Then a case will be registered under section 228.
And apart from this, let us tell you that for giving false testimony in the court, you can be sentenced up to 3 years under section 229 of the Indian Code of Justice. And there can also be a fine of up to Rs 5000. So both the punishments can also be given.
If you are going to present your case in the court. Or you are going to give your testimony. So in such a situation, you should take advice from a lawyer on how to present your point. How to prove what you said.
Because if you give false testimony in the court. And it is proved. Then a separate case can be filed against you on the charge of giving false testimony. In which there is a provision for both punishment and fine. So take special care of these things.
